Marble trout occupy a near-mythic place in European fly fishing. Their pale vermiculated flanks, long predatory frame, and home waters of turquoise alpine rivers make them feel like a species from another continent entirely.
Water is often so clear that every mistake in approach or presentation is punished instantly. Large marble trout are strongly predatory, and older fish are often targeted with streamers.
